Families are suffering from Mandates. Our District can not afford what comes down from Albany. Never before has there been such an outcry for help from our current elected officials to their counterparts in Albany. Senator Saland is NOT getting it done.
Current 2011 to the Present- The Mandate Relief Council is an eleven-member Executive and Legislative council charged with reviewing and advancing proposals to reduce the statutory and regulatory burden on local governments and school districts.
Timeline: Senator Saland has been in office for 32 years and what has he done regarding Mandate Relief? How many more councils, community discussions, forums, public hearings are going to be held before lifelong politicians do something about it? Enough with the photo ops! It is time to deliver Mandate Relief NOW. My priority on my arrival in Albany will be to handle this issue first and foremost.
Limited Government, Free Markets, Individual Responsibility
Our government is too big and only getting bigger. Big government is expensive, inefficient, and controlling!
Free markets offer opportunity. People want jobs not handouts. Capitalism works, not Socialism. I am in our grocery stores and retail establishments and they are empty. DWIs are on the rise. People in this district need jobs. Small businesses are the job creators. I will fight to end the burdensome regulations and taxation on small businesses. Healthy prosperous families ensure a healthy prosperous nation.
Veterans. Anyone who has served our country deserves our highest praise. The sacrifices they made to defend our freedoms are immeasurable. My friend walked away from a promising career on Wall Street to defend our country. He served a tour in Iraq and is currently protecting our country in Afghanistan. I know firsthand the sacrifices he has made along with all members of our Armed Forces. I pledge with all my heart to give them ALL the support they need when they return to New York after their tour.
Second Amendment. A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. The Founding Fathers had it right. I will always vote against Microstamping.
Illegal Immigration. I am only for Legal Immigration.
Israel. I will ALWAYS STAND WITH ISRAEL.
Term Limits. I am in favor of term limits. I will also champion guiding citizens in the way Albany works so when I depart he/she will be able to hit the ground running when he/she assumes office.
